Shabana Mahmood Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood

Shabana has launched a campaign to Save Naseby Youth Centre, calling on the council to find a partner for the centre.
New plans to transform Birmingham’s youth service mean that the youth centre will no longer be managed “in-house” by the council, and a partner must be found.
Shabana has launched a petition calling on the council to find a partner, with the following criteria:
- A proven track record in community and youth work in Alum Rock.
- A commitment to maintain provision for our young people.
- A plan to invest in the building to preserve it for future generations.
Speaking after launching her petition, Shabana said:
When I visited Naseby Youth Centre late last year, I saw first-hand the incredible work done by youth workers and volunteers.
They are providing a safe space for our young people, getting them off the streets and involved in meaningful activities.
I’m asking residents to sign my petition to Save Naseby and protect it for future generations.
