Shabana has welcomed news the Small Heath Library will stay open.

The library was one of many at risk of closure due to re-organisation by Birmingham City Council.

The news follows campaigning from local residents to save the library.

It has been announced that the library will open for a minimum of 4 days a week and be a community hub for the area.

Speaking after the announcement, Shabana said:

I remember using this library as a child in Small Heath and I want the next generation to have the same opportunities that I had.

 

That’s why I’m delighted that after our campaigning Small Heath library will stay open.
