Shabana Mahmood Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood
Shabana has visited Brandauer – a business with an over 160 year history in Birmingham.
Brandauer is an award-winning manufacturer known for precision engineers. Founded by a French refugee, this company and its predecessors has seen over 10 monarchs on the throne.
From surgical implants to floppy disks, many of their components were pressed in Brandauer’s factory in Newtown. Parts made in Birmingham even contributed to the Large Hadron Collider.
During her visit, Shabana met apprentices and tried her hand at metal-pressing.
Speaking after the visit, Shabana said:
Brandauer has so much to celebrate, with its long history in our city and being an award-winning manufacturer.
And they do it all with one eye on the next generation, training apprentices with hands on experience and academic qualifications.
Brandauer are truly engineering the future and proving that you still buy it, make it, and sell it in Brum.
