Medway Tower, Severn Tower, and Thames Towers have been affected.

Please find below information received from Bloomsbury Estate Management regarding a burst water main affecting tower blocks.

Water Main Repair

We met with Equans Management Team this morning and have been updated on the mains water fault. Further works are required before the water supply can be turned back on. New pipe is required to be run from Thames Tower carpark up to Oliver Street. Once this is done, the supply can be turned back on. This work is estimated to take up to 3 working days.

Toilets

Equans will be filling the water tanks on the roofs this afternoon. These tanks supply water to the toilets, so all toilets should be working again by approx 3pm. Equans will be refilling the tanks daily until the water supply is turned back on.

Drinking Water

Equans and Bloomsbury EMB are working together to keep a stock of bottled water at Medway Tower’s Offices. Water is limited to 10 litres per property, per day. These can be collected in person between 9am-5pm. We request that these are collected in person where possible.

For any tenants unable of carrying the water, please contact our office and we will make arrangements to get some water delivered to you.

Bathing

Free at Last have showering facilities available between 10.30am and 3pm.
49 Nechells Park Road Nechells,
Birmingham, B7 5PR.

We will continue to update you again tomorrow once we have further updates.

Bloomsbury Phone Lines:–  The Bloomsbury team have stated that they are answering the calls, but  some customers may be experiencing delays in getting through. We have been assured that they will be spoken to once the line clears.

Vulnerable People: The Council are aware of our customers with disabilities or vulnerabilities, and they will be provided with water as per the current process we have in place. We have arranged for some residents to have a personal water delivery due to their mobility.

Temporary Tap:  A temporary tap is also being installed at the site on Wednesday 20th August for residents to have access to running water.
