Shabana has attended the launch of Labour’s local election campaign in the West Midlands.
Joining members of the Cabinet at a speech by the Prime Minister, before heading out to campaign, Shabana emphasised the importance of this set of elections.
In Birmingham, all 101 council seats are up for grabs, with Labour putting forward fresh new candidates embedded in their local communities.
Speaking at the launch, Shabana said:
We know that only a Labour government working with Labour councillors can deliver for the people of our country.
That’s why we’re taking action on the cost of living, childcare, prescription charges, on rail fares, giving money to local areas and allowing local people to choose how they’re going to spend that money.
That is the thing that you only ever get with a Labour government.
