Shabana has welcomed huge investment in Birmingham’s creative industries in a visit to Masterchef studios in Digbeth.
The BBC is almost doubling its TV production spend in the West Midlands to £40 million, including opening a brand new base in Digbeth.
During her visit in April, Shabana met team members from the production company Banijay who chose Birmingham for the next step in their creative careers.
Speaking from the studio floor, Shabana said:
Today I’m at the Masterchef studio in Digbeth. But I’m not here to take the dreaded skills test.
I’ve been meeting some of the team working on productions here – homegrown talents staying or returning to our city.
