Shabana has attended the Police Bravery Awards in her role as Home Secretary.
The annual awards were celebrated in a Downing Street reception.
They recognise extraordinary acts of heroism by Police Officers across the country.
Speaking at the reception, Shabana Mahmood said:
The Police Bravery Awards are a day to celebrate acts of heroism that would otherwise go unheralded.
A day to say what is too rarely said: thank you.
From the dangers officers face to the sacrifices they and their families make, thank you for all you do to keep us safe.
