Shabana has welcomed residents to her ‘front room’ to talk about Birmingham’s challenges.
In September, Shabana wrote to households across Soho and the Jewellery Quarter with her listening survey, asking for feedback about the local neighbourhood.
A selection of residents who responded were invited to Shabana’s ‘front room’ to speak to her directly about their responses.
In an informal setting, residents raised issues with crime and antisocial behaviour, litter and bin collections, and High Streets.
Residents were also united in their love for Birmingham despite some of the local challenges.
Speaking at the event, Shabana said:
Conversations like this one are happening in front rooms across Birmingham.
So it’s only right that as the Member of Parliament, I invited local residents into mine.
It was helpful to hear directly from residents and the challenges they face, and I’m determined to get to work to put things right.
